Vacancy in Literature

Connecting writers with each other, with scientists, artists, thinkers and with their audiences across borders of cultures and countries is the mission of Writers Unlimited. To this aim, Writers Unlimited organises an annual international literature festival (Winternachten festival), monthly panel-discussions in The Hague (B-Unlimited), and writers’ tours across the world (Writers Unlimited Network). During those encounters, they exchange-before an audience and amongst each other-their work, their experiences, dreams and ideas, in all languages and in all its cultural diversity.

Writers Unlimited started in 1995 and has since been supported by the national government, the City of The Hague and many private funds and sponsors. The institute’s Winternachten festival in January is the main international literary event in The Netherlands.
Emerging artists from the fields of visual and digital arts, performative arts, or writers from France, Germany, the Netherlands and Turkey are invited to apply for the open call. The applicants are sought to have lived and worked the last three years in one of the partner countries and show proof of competence and enthusiasm in respective artistic fields. Eligible artists can apply to the open call by filing up the application form and submitting their portfolios between 20 March and 30 April 2019 (latest by 23.59 GMT+3). Participants will then be selected by an international committee.
