In Istanbul, İKSV will rent four apartments with the necessary facilities located in the creative centre of the city. Conducting all of its past hospitality experience and networking solutions, İKSV will ensure that this occasion will be a milestone in the participating artists’ practice and career. This new residency programme will host more than 12 artists from any and all fields on a 1 year time-span. Incoming artists will also spend at least 5 days in one of our partnering residencies around Anatolia. In order to realize the action in most efficiently, the scheme is as flexible as possible. In addition to İKSV’s support, each artist will work with a local mentor of common interests or practice. The mutual dialogue flourishing from this relationship will ensure the productivity of the visit and will serve as a platform for peer-learning. Apart from conventional promotional operations, events such as public meetings, open studios/studio visits and master classes will also be part of the activities.
Emerging artists from the fields of visual and digital arts, performative arts, or writers from France, Germany, the Netherlands and Turkey are invited to apply for the open call. The applicants are sought to have lived and worked the last three years in one of the partner countries and show proof of competence and enthusiasm in respective artistic fields. Eligible artists can apply to the open call by filing up the application form and submitting their portfolios between 20 March and 30 April 2019 (latest by 23.59 GMT+3). Participants will then be selected by an international committee.
